Russia to negotiate roaming tariffs with EU

Russia has begun negotiations with the European Union on implementing the European directive on roaming, according to the Minister of Communications, Igor Shchegolev. An agreement is unlikely before 2012. However, if the EU talks are successful, roaming tariffs for Russian mobile phone customers in EU countries will drop significantly. At the same time, Russian operators must reduce their roaming charges for European customers.
