5 million desktop computers to be sold in Russia in 2012

The sales of desktop computers in Russia may total 5 million units in 2012, under the condition of a stable macroeconomic growth in the country, ITResearch reported
. In the event of economic stagnation, the stationary computers market will remain at 2011 levels (approximately 4.5 million units sold) while the economic crisis is expected to bring a drop in the desktop sales to 4.2 million.

Russian macroeconomic development remains difficult to forecast considering remaining uncertainty in the EU and the world’s economy. However, the probability of economic stagnation in 2012 is approximately 50% and the probability of economic growth does not exceed 20%.
