MTS had 3 million of pay TV subscribers at 2011-end

MTS, one of the leading telecommunication companies in Russia, announced having 3 million pay TV subscribers registered at the end of 2011 in the country, resulting in 16.3% growth year on year.
Additionally, to the expansion of its fixed-line network in 2011, the operator made some investments in the substitution of analogue TV by digital DVB-C and DVB+IP technologies. MTS plans to finalise a complete digitalisation of its TV network in Q2 2012.
In the beginning of 2012, MTS offered fixed network services in more than 120 cities in Russia. The operator has over 2 million residential broadband subscribers, while the total number of households living in the range of a MTS fixed-line network reached 10 million.
