New regulations for voice tariffs between Moscow and surrounding region

Igor Shegolev, the minister of IT and mass communications, has inked a writ approving the requirements for the construction of communication networks, traffic hierarchy and use of numbering resources in the city of Moscow and the Moscow region, taking into account their socio-economic characteristics.
Hitherto, according to the territorial division of the local telephone networks and the numbering system, Moscow and the Moscow region belonged to different telephone service zones. Thanks to the new regulations, there will be a single area code for the whole of the capital and its surrounding zone, thus making the price of phone calls equal throughout this area.
