Synterra has completed construction of its Ulan-Ude – Chita fiber optic backbone, according to Itar-Tass. The network runs through 10 locations and has a total length of over 650 km. The investment cost more than RUB 360m ($12.5m).
By December the company plans to equip the backbone with fiber-optic transmission systems using wavelength division multiplexing channels – DWDM. The backbone will have an initial capacity of 10 Gbit/s.
At the present time Synterra has two different routes to the Ulan-Ude – Chita line which will enhance the coherence coefficient and capacity for expansion of Synterra’s network in the Siberian Federal District.
