President approves amendments to telecommunications law

The Russian President, Dmitry Medvedev, has signed the amendments to the federal law on telecommunications in Russia. The new law is set to improve the competitive environment in the telecommunications sector and reduce administrative barriers and risks for investment in the development of telecommunication networks. The changes are aimed at facilitating the creation of a modern telecommunications infrastructure in Russia.
