Russian computer market contracts by 26%

The Russian computer market contracted by 26% in 2009 in comparison to 2008, according to the research firm ITResearch. Over 7.28 million computers were sold in 2009, of which 3.96 million were desktops and 3.32 portables, including laptops. The drop in sales of desktops was 33%, while sales of portable computers fell by 16%. The leading market players Acer, Depo, HP, K-Systems and Kraftway have a total market share of 23.4%.
