The Chinese computer technology company Lenovo increased its sales of computers in Russia by an impressive 258% year on year in the 2009/2010 financial year, boosting the company to the fifth place in the personal computers market. Lenovo holds a 5.5% market share in personal computers and 8% in laptops. Russia remains the key market for Lenovo. The company will continue to develop its key regional expansion strategy in the country and aims to achieve a double-figure market share in Russia over the next two years. In 2007 Lenovo was twelfth in the Russian market with a market share of only 0.7%.
