The manufacturer of high-capacity optical transmission equipment, Infinera, has signed a memorandum of understanding with the Russian holding Svyazinvest and system integrator NVision Group as part of the government’s development strategy for knowledge capital in Russia. According to the agreement, Infinera will deliver training courses for Russian technical universities on the implementation of optical communication services. It is also planning to take part in a programme to develop science parks and in the creation of an R&D centre in Russia. The company is to consider equipment assembly in Russia. Its key partner in Russia is NVision Group.
