MTS increases revenue

A leading
Russian mobile telecommunications company,
MTS, increased its revenues by 8.9% to RUB 102.4bn ($3.27bn) in the first half of 2010 in comparison to RUB 94bn ($3bn) in H1 2009. The company increased its retail sales by 68% to RUB 1.2bn ($39.3m). Sales of MTS services went up by 8.4% to RUB 100.9bn ($3.22bn). The company’s net profits grew by almost 60% to RUB 23.2bn ($759.9m) in H1 2010 in comparison to RUB 14.8bn ($484.8m) in H1 2009.
MTS has 69.42 million subscribers in Russia and is 52.8% owned by
Sistema.
