Megafon plans to acquire PeterStar

The board of the mobile phone operator Megafon is due to discuss at the end of September the acquisition of PeterStar, which is now owned by Megafon's subsidiary Sinterra. Megafon is looking to merge with Sinterra by joining the two companies in the North-West region of Russia boasting a powerful infrastructure base and a strong corporate culture and for the new company to create the first convergent servers.
In addition, Megafon has concluded deals with other subsidiaries of Sinterra – Akvafon-GSM, Ostelekom and TT-Mobile – for the joint use of resources and services.
