Svyazinvest plans to acquire Akado

Russian telecommunications company
Svyazinvest is planning to acquire
Akado, the Moscow cable TV operator and ISP. According to Svyazinvest’s CEO Mikhail Leshchenko, Akado is a strategically interesting asset for Svyazinvest because of its presence on the Moscow cable TV market. The value of Akado is estimated to be worth $1bn including its debt. Akado enjoys a 53% market share in the paid TV market in Moscow with a 20% share in the broadband Internet market.
Svyazinvest is the owner of
Tsentralnyy Telegraf in Moscow, which currently has a 2% share in the Moscow TV market and 4% in ithe nternet market.
