Mobile phone operators to reveal roaming price changes
2011-02-16
The Russian mobile phone operators MTS, VimpelCom and Megafon are to be required by the Federal Antimonopoly Service (FAS) to inform their customers about price changes for international roaming services. In October last year the FAS revealed a breach in the competition law by the top three mobile phone operators, who were fixing and maintaining high prices for roaming and failed to inform customers properly on the procedure of payment for services when roaming. As a result, the FAS ordered tariffs for national and international roaming services in the CIS countries to be reduced.
